Ace of Pentacles

As with all "Aces", the Ace of Pentacles represents, a fresh start, new beginning, fresh opportunity, and positive creative force.

Aces in general herald new beginnings and opportunities.

The Ace of Pentacles brings the theme of gaining power as a result of material pursuits or projects. Remember that the Aces generally represent beginnings - but beginnings with good prospects, unfettered by whatever problems or complications may occur if matters are not handled well.

This card may also bring more general messages. This may include the need to focus on the actions needed to resolve our situation. More specifically, it may draw our attention to the need to focus on the material / physical aspects of our situation - as opposed to the mental, intellectual, or emotional aspects of it.

Keywords summarising the possible meanings of this card include:

  • Attainment
  • Bright prospects - materially and spiritually
  • Contentment
  • Success in Business, Commerce, and Finance
  • Wealth, Material Security
  • Wonder of Nature.

Remember that all of the Pentacles cards in the Tarot Deck have some energies in common. These include, for example, the overall association of the suit of Pentacles with the element of earth and material concerns. For further information, read about the Suit of Pentacles in general.

Some texts include meanings for "reversed cards", which apply when the cards are shuffled in both order and orientation. This doubles the number of possible "cards" in the deck from 78 to 156. (In terms of the probabilities of obtaining results by chance alone, it is not a simple doubling as once a card has been drawn it cannot be selected again in the opposite orientation in the same reading.)
