The "Eights" in the Tarot Deck are often associated
        with strength. ("Strength" is Card
No.8 in the Major Arcana). Some situations require courage and the
cards numbered 8 in the Minor Arcana concern taking the necessary action
        - even when to do so may be difficult.
In the case of The Eight of Pentacles, the patience required by the
Seven of Pentacles has paid off: The
figure depicted in this card (not all decks include pictorial representations
of the meaning of the cards but many of those that do include figures
on many of the cards) appears to have developed the skills and discipline
necessary to achieve his/her goals and complete the associated tasks.
The theme of the Eight of Pentacles may be described as "Dedication
to Work and to Goals". Some illustrations of this card depict craftsmen
          - symbolising transformation of unconcious needs into concious awareness.
Depending on its position in a spread this card may urge the seeker
to get back to pursuing and completing his/her tasks, especially if
those tasks have been neglected recently. |
