The "Fives" in the Tarot Deck typically depict
images of loss, sorrow, and misfortune. They stand in stark contrast
to the secure structure conveyed by the Fours. One way to think of this
is to imagine the fours as the body complete with its four limbs, yet
the Fives also include the head - together with awareness, concerns,
hurt, and uncertainties. These take different forms for each of the four
        suits.
In the case of the Five of Pentacles many decks depict sad, negative
images of difficulties. For example, both the Rider-Waite and Robin
Wood Decks illustrate crippled beggars outside in extreme winter
weather - conveying both poverty and ill-health simultaneously.
This card may appear to advise the sitter to recognise the deepest
anxieties in a situation - rather than becoming too distracted by the
superficial ones. It may also/alternatively be there to advise the
sitter to take better care of him/herself, or of the situation in question.
