This section is not strictly about tarot. However, all of the
cards of the tarot, taken together, represent a huge range of situations,
emotions, and possibilities. The city of Oxford is an
immense inspiration that has been on the route to success for thousands
of people - but it was fun to investigate further
afield as well.
The towns and villages around Oxford have many fascinating histories
and all of their own. Many have also featured in modern tales of
Oxford/shire, such as the TV Dramas, "Morse", "Lewis", and "Midsommer
Murders". Anyone who has spent much time in Oxford will be familiar
with the sight of TV outside broadcast units and assorted film
crews. We've also seen filming in the surrounding areas, such as
Wallingford and Thame.
In consideration of our website visitors from outside of this
area we've included as many photographs as possible. Browse our
pages (via the links to placenames listed on the left-hand-side)
and pictures and come and visit in person if at all possible.
The peaceful haven shown below is part of Christchurch Meadow.
This lies between the River Thames (or "Isis", as it flows through
Oxford)
and the backs of Christchurch, Corpus Christi, and Merton Colleges. It is
just a few minutes walk from the busy Oxford High Street and popular
with
couples, families, and groups of tourists all of whom can enjoy a
different perspective of Oxford, right next to the rivers and the
Botanical Gardens.
Part of this area was under-water during the summer floods,
July 2007.
