Banbury is one of the largest towns in Oxfordshire, and is located
in the north of this fairly long county.
Banbury is made famous by the childrens' nursery rhyme "Ride a
              Cock Horse to Banbury Cross":

" Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross
To see a fine lady upon a white horse
With rings on her fingers and bells on her toes
She shall have music wherever she goes. "

Banbury town centre benefits from a beautiful traditional
style with a wide main street. This is similar to some of the
other towns in this area. Banbury's industrial base is, however,
              rather
larger and more successful than other industrial & commercial
                communities in this immediate area.
Oxfordshire being a relatively long north-south county,
and the City of Oxford being in the south of Oxfordshire, Banbury
(in the north of the county) is about 20 miles from Oxford. The
journey between Oxford and Banbury seems shorter by train as Banbury
is the first stop on many north-bound inter-city services from
              Oxford.
