The Red Lion Pub, Faringdon

Faringdon is a small Market Town located in South-West Oxfordshire,
not far from Carterton and Lechlade-on-Thames.
            One of the most
              recogniseable
              landmarks
of Faringdon is its "folly", a tower that can bee seen from miles
around and whose beacon was light at night for several months to
              celebrate the millenium in 2000.
            Coxwell Great Barn (National Trust
Property) is also very close to Faringdon and is open to the
public. Other tourist attractions in the Faringdon area include
White Horse Hill, Waylands Smithy, and neighbouring features of
              interest along The Ridgeway.

The above photograph of Faringdon Market Square was taken
              in late summer 2007.

            All
Saints Church of England (Anglican) Church in Faringdon is just
a short walk from the main market square. A path leads directly
through the neatly tended churchyard to the Church Porch. This
is a beautifully peaceful spot. It is ideal to enjoy the sounds
and scents of nature, bird song and
                squirrels
                in the
trees - especially on a warm still summer's
                day .
