             Thame
is an attractive market town in South Oxfordshire.
            Located right
on the Buckinghamshire border, Thame is Approx. 10 miles from
Aylesbury (Bucks), and only a short drive from the beauty of the
              Chiltern
              Hills.

Every year thousands of people (and animals!) enjoy the
            Thame & Oxfordshire
            County Show

This small market town is the location of the famous "Thame Show",
which is now known as the "Thame and Oxfordshire County Show".
This is said to be the largest one-day agricultural show in England.
A wide variey of livestock, produce, crafts, and other attractions
feature at the show. The town is justifiably proud of this major
event which takes place on the 3rd Thursday in September and is
              usually
              reported
              in detail
(with several pages of great photographs !) in the following day's
              local newspaper, the Thame Gazette.

Another highlight of life in Thame is the fairgound that visits the Thame
regularly, on set weekends each year. The fairground is usually
in town on the weekend following the Thame Show. The photograph
on the left shows the bright lights of the carousel located in
front of the Thame's red-brick Town Hall (top right of
photo). The Fairground occupies the whole of the town centre and
attracts large crowds including families, teenagers, and adults
			  - locals and visitors.

It is not unusual to see Hot
Air Balloons in the skies around
Thame on balmy summer evenings - and in the early mornings. The photograph
below is of a hot air balloon passing gracefully over a residential
area of Thame, Oxfordshire in late summer 2007.
