The Fox Public House - Tiddington, Oxfordshire.
Warm welcome, good food and drinks in sociable atmosphere.
Tiddington is a small attractive village on the A418
between Thame and Wheatley. It is conveniently close to the Oxford
Services at nearby Junction 8A of the M40 Motorway.
The village centre is pleasant, especially on a sunny summers
day. Basic amenities are available on the main road through the
village. These include a large caravan (sales, repair, etc.)
and outdoor supplies centre, "The Fox" Pub,
a petrol station selling fuel and basic supplies including
some refreshments, also a post box, a childrens' play area - seperated
from the main road by a substantial hedge, and the bus stops and
shelters for the 280 bus service between Oxford and
Aylesbury (Bucks.), via Thame.
Other facilities
and businesses in this immediate area include gardening allotments,
a veterinary centre, and several farms. The nearest large hotel
(with swimming pool and other leisure facilities) is the Oxford
Belfry Hotel located near to Junction 7 of the M40 motorway.
There are several parking areas for vehicles and lorries stopping
overnight on sections of the A418 either side of Tiddington.
Finally, it's worth remembering that the village of Tiddington
is a 30 mph speed zone on an otherwise open country road, so beware.
Fast
traffic
is not
unusual,
especially
at quiet times such as overnight.
